Duration Of Stay:

EVisa holders can stay in Malaysia for a maximum of 30 days per visit. One eVisa application can be used once only. Visa extension is not allowed.

Documents Required

Applicants need to scan and upload the following documents while applying for a Malaysian eVisa:

  1. Recent passport sized photograph. This photo must be clicked in a studio within a period of 3 months. It should be 35mm by 50mm in size. The photo should not have any border and must have a white/light background. No headgear is allowed in photograph apart from Turban or Hijab. The photo should cover face from chin to crown.
  2. Front page of the passport.
  3. Return flight ticket (Confirmed ticket only).
  4. Birth Certificate in case of minors.

Applicants need to display the following documents at Malaysian entry checkpoints after arriving in Malaysia:

  1. EVisa printout.
  2. Return flight ticket.
  3. Sufficient funds that will cover your expenses during the stay in Malaysia. You can show Debit or Credit Cards/Cash/ Travelers Cheque.
  4. Accommodation proof

How to Apply?

To apply for Malaysian eVisa, you have to first open the eVisa application website of Malaysia. If you are applying for this eVisa for the first time, then click on 'I'm new' to initiate the application process. Existing applicants have to click on 'Returning User' and they will be directed to their account.

Approval Process:

Once you apply for a Malaysian eVisa, approval depends on the Malaysian Mission Office or the Malaysian Immigration Department. If there are any suspicions, you might be asked to submit other documents and also appear for an interview or Skype interview with the Malaysian High Commission, Malaysia Consulate or Malaysian Embassy.

The Malaysian authorities will get in touch with you through emails. If the application is approved, then you have to take a printout of your eVisa on A4 size paper.

Malaysia to Allow Indian Tourists for 30 Days Without a Visa

From 1 December 2023, Malaysia will scrap visa requirements for Indian tourists. Indian citizens can stay in Malaysia for up to 30 days without a visa. The announcement was made by the Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Vietnam is also considering visa-free entry for Indian tourists. Earlier, Thailand announced visa-free entry for Indian citizens until 10 May 2024. The main aim of the move is to boost the tourism industry.
