New UAE Golden Visa Categories Announced for 2025

The United Arab Emirates has introduced a new nomination-based Golden visa, which offers eligible Indians lifetime residency in the country for a one-time fee of AED 1,00,000 (approximately Rs. 23.3 lakh), without requiring them to invest in real estate or business. This represents a significant change from the country's traditional investment-based residency model. Until now, the UAE's coveted Golden visa was only available to Indian nationals who made high-value investments, such as purchasing at least AED 2 million (Rs. 4.66 crore) worth of real estate. However, under this new approach, candidates may be nominated and accepted on the basis of their professional experience, contributions to society, or potential advantages for the UAE's industries, including startups, finance, science, trade, and culture.

Visas to 14 Countries, Including India, for Hajj 2025 Pilgrimage are Temporarily Suspended by Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has suspended the issuance of some visas to 14 countries, including India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan in preparation of the Hajj pilgrimage. Until the end of the Makkah pilgrimage in mid-June, visas for Umrah, business, and family visits will be suspended. The 14 countries that are impacted by the prohibition include Algeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Yemen, Morocco, Nigeria, Jordan, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Egypt. Saudi authorities told Pakistan's ARY that people with Umrah visas can still enter Saudi Arabia till 13 April. Hajj 2025 will take place from 4 June to 9 June.
