If you reside in South Delhi and has a property of your own, then you will have to pay property tax. The property tax is paid to South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC). The payment of tax can be done both online and offline.

How to Pay your SDMC Property Tax Online

You can pay your property tax both online and offline. We will list down the methods through which you can complete the payment of your property tax to SDMC:

  • Visit the official website of SDMC by clicking on this link https://mcdonline.nic.in/ptrmcd/web/citizen/info.
  • Under 'User Login' provide your 'Registered Mobile Number' and Click on generate 'OTP'
  • Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number and click on 'Login'.
  • Now, Check all the details and Click on 'Pay Tax'
  • Download the receipt once the payment success.

How to Pay your SDMC Property Tax Offline

You can pay your SDMC property tax offline by visiting ITZ cash counters in South Delhi. The payment can be done through cash, cheque, demand draft, debit card, credit card, etc. You can also pay the SDMC property tax by visiting the nearest branch of HDFC Bank, Axis Bank or the nearest Customer Service Bureau Centre.

Factors that Determine SDMC Property Tax Rates

Some of the main factors that the determine the SDMC property tax rates are mentioned below:

SDMC Property Tax – Penalties

A 1% annual interest will be levied every month in case the property tax is not paid by 31 March.

SDMC Property Tax – Rebate

The property tax can be paid at any given time before the last date. Certain rebates are offered if the tax is paid within the first quarter and is paid in full. Apart from this various other rebates are also provided and are mentioned below:

  1. In case the tax is paid online, 2% rebate will be provided. However, the maximum rebate that will be provided is Rs.10,000.
  2. For differently disabled individuals (property owners), 30% rebate will be provided (up to 200 square metres).
  3. If the payment is made before 30 June, tax refund of 20% will be provided.
  4. For senior citizens (property owners), 30% rebate will be provided (up to 200 square metres).
  5. For women, 30% rebate will be provided (up to 200 square metres).

Tax rebates will be provided only for residential units.

SDMC Property Tax – Exemptions

The properties where tax need not be paid are mentioned below:

  1. In case the property is owned by an individual who has won an international medal.
  2. If the property is owned by a gallantry award winner.
  3. The building is being used for charity purposes.
  4. Heritage structures.
  5. Agricultural land.

    If the property is jointly owned, the rebate will depend on the property share and the property tax rebate eligibility.
