According to the RBI guidelines, banks are supposed to reimburse those incorrectly debited sums in less than a time period of 12 working days. Punjab and Sind bank too follows this diligently.
Your debit card can get sucked by the machine for various reasons such as forgetting your PIN, wrongly entering your PIN, faultiness of the machine and more. The first thing to do is to get in touch with the PSB customer care by phone or in person and report the incident at the earliest. Your card will be blocked temporarily and you can then apply to retrieve or issue a new card or PIN.
In an unfortunate event of loss or theft or mugging, you must notify the PSB customer care centre at the earliest. You can call their desk numbers and get your card blocked temporarily.
As a government owned bank, daily withdrawals come with certain restrictions. You can withdraw up to a maximum of INR 15,000 in a day. You cannot do more than three withdrawals a day.
The client can file a detailed complaint with the nearest Punjab & Sind Bank branch. This procedure is pertinent even if the transaction was done at any PSB ATM.
