RBI Assistant Exam 2025

The RBI Assistant exam is a national-level recruitment process to find eligible and ideal candidates for the post of Assistant in the Reserve Bank of India (RB). It is conducted by the RBI with applications elicited from youngsters across India. The exam has three phases: Preliminaries, Mains, and Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The scores of the main exams will determine the list of meritorious students who will finally be selected for the post of RBI Assistant.

Exam Dates of RBI Assistant Exam:

The RBI Assistant exam is conducted in different venues across India in shifts.

The official notification for the exam was released on 17 February 2024. The dates for the upcoming exam are mentioned in the table below.

RBI Assistant 2025 Exam Centre:

The RBI Assistant exam 2020 is conducted in various authorised centres across India. It is conducted in the online mode. Centres are allotted based on the candidate’s preference that is provided in the application form. The centre may be changed by the RBI without prior notice if there is no seat availability at the RBI office at the location.

RBI Assistant 2025 Eligibility:

Nationality: A candidate should be one of the following:

  1. Citizen of India
  2. Subject of Nepal
  3. Subject of Bhutan
  4. Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 to settle permanently in India
  5. Person of Indian origin who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries of Malawi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Zaire, the United Republic of Tanzania, or Uganda, with the intent to permanently settle in India

Age: A candidate must be between 20 to 28 years of age.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 50% and above in any discipline. Knowledge of computers as well as proficiency in the official language of the relevant state or Union Territory is a must.

RBI Assistant 2025 Online Application:

Online application for the RBI Assistant exam can be submitted at the official website of the Reserve Bank of India.

RBI Assistant 2025 Application Fee:

  1. For General and OBC candidates, the fee is Rs. 450
  2. For SC/ST/PWD/EXS candidates the fee is Rs.50

Payment mode: Fees can be paid online using debit card, credit card, or net banking facility.

RBI Assistant Vacancies 2025:

There are 926 total Assistant vacancies in the RBI at offices across the country. The selection of candidates for these vacancies will be done through the RBI Assistant exam. RBI Assistant’s Salary in 2025:

An RBI Assistant gets a Basic Pay of Rs. 20,700 per month.

The RBI Assistant also gets House Rent Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Transport Allowance, and City Compensatory Allowance, along with the Basic Pay. So, the Gross Salary is approximately Rs.45,050 per month.

RBI Assistant Exam Details:

The exam has three phases which are the preliminaries, mains, and the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

  1. Prelims: There are three sections for the preliminary examination which are the English Language section, Reasoning Ability section, and Numerical Ability section.
  2. Mains: The mains exam has five sections which are English Language, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning.
  3. LPT: The candidate will be tested on their proficiency of the local language of the state they are applying from

Marking: While there is negative marking for wrong answers, marks will not be deducted if the question is left blank or unanswered.

RBI Assistant Language Proficiency Test (LPT) Exam Pattern:

The candidates who are shortlisted provisionally from the mains will be called for the LPT. This will be in the official or local language of the state. Candidates who do not have proficiency in the language will not be qualified.

Preparation for the RBI Assistant Examination:

Candidates can prepare for the RBI Assistant examination by first gaining a thorough understanding of the syllabus and exam pattern. This will help them know where they have to focus their attention on. They can also go through the previous years’ question papers and solve them in order to gain practice. This should be preferably done with a timer in order to improve time management skills which will prove to be beneficial during the exam. Daily practice of reading, comprehension, computer skills, and math problems will help candidates to improve their skills and understanding.   • Where will the exam dates be published by the RBI?

    The RBI will publish the exam dates on its official website.

  • Are there negative marks for the exams?

    Yes, negative marking is there for every wrong answer. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks are subtracted in both prelims and main exams.

  • Is there negative marking for unanswered or un-attempted questions?
    • No, there is no negative marking for questions which are not attempted or which are not answered.
  • Within how much time after the exam can we expect the results to be announced?

    The RBI usually announces the results of the RBI Assistant exam one or two weeks after the exam is completed.

  • Is it possible to clear the exam if I have high marks in one out of two sections or in two out of the three sections?

    You have to clear all the three sections, which are the preliminaries, mains, and Language Proficiency Test, in order to be selected for the post of RBI Assistant.

Mains Admit Card 2022 for RBI Assistant released

The Reserve Bank of India has released the Main Admits Card 2022 for the Assistant post on its official website. The admit card was released on 28 April and the exam will be conducted on 8 May 2022. The Admit Card will be available on RBI’s website until 8 May. Candidates will need to log in using the Registration ID and password to download the Admit Card.

RBI Grade B 2022 registration starts from 28 March

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has started the registration process for the recruitment of RBI Grade B Officers. The official notification was released for 303 vacancies. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the exam at rbi.org.in. The online registration will be available from 28 March to 18 April 2022. The candidates will be selected on the basis of prelims, mains, and an interview.

Registration for RBI Assistant Recruitment 2021 begins from 17 February

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is recruiting candidates for 950 posts of Assistant in various offices of the bank. Interested candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can visit the official website of RBI at www.rbi.org.in/ to apply for the exam. The online application starts from 17 February 2022.

The last date to apply for the exam is 8 March 2022. The tentative dates for the preliminary exam are 26 March and 27 March 2022. The main exam will be scheduled for May 2022. The application fee for SC, ST and PwBD category candidates is Rs.50 while the candidates belonging to Gen, OBC and EWS category will have to pay Rs.450.
