Step 1 - Visit www.onlinesbi.com

Step 2 - Click on 'New User Registration'

Step 3 - Click on 'OK'

Step 4 - Select 'New User Registration' from the dropdown menu

Step 5 - Click on 'Next'

Step 6 - Enter details such as the savings account number, CIF number, branch code, country, mobile number, facility required, and captcha. Click on 'Submit'

Step 7 - Enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent on your mobile number and click on 'Confirm'

Step 8 - Select 'I have my ATM card (online registration without branch visit)' and click on 'Submit'

Step 9 - Validate the ATM credentials and click on 'Proceed'

Step 10 - You are requested to create a permanent username and login password

Step 11 - Enter the login password again and click on 'Submit'. On doing that, the registration is successful.

How to Activate SBI Net Banking? 

Customers should fulfil the following criteria to register for the net banking services with SBI: 

  1. Customers should have a savings account with the SBI. 
  2. They should link their mobile number with their bank account. 
  3. They should have a valid ATM card

Given below are the steps to register for the internet banking facility with SBI: 

  1. Visit the official website of SBI
  2. Go to the ‘Personal Banking’ section and click on the ‘New User Registration’. 
  3. You will get to see a pop up window on the screen in order to confirm that you have not received your internet banking kit. 
  4. Click on ‘OK’ button. 

Note: If you have received the SBI net banking kit, you need to have to register for the net banking. You can directly login to the portal using your User ID and password issues by the bank. 

  1. Once done, you will receive a pop-up message. Choose the ‘New User Registration’ from the drop-down menu. 
  2. Then, click on ‘Next’
  3. You will be redirected to a new screen. 
  1. Enter the details like your bank account number, branch code, CIF number, registered mobile number, country, and facility that you want. 
  2. Enter the captcha code 

The 'Get Branch Code' option will provide the branch code if you are unable to determine it. To obtain the branch code, you need to provide the branch name and the status. 

Steps to Transfer Money Through SBI Net Banking Portal: 

Before you transfer money online, you need to make sure that the recipient is added as a beneficiary to your net banking account. Given below are the steps to add a beneficiary on SBI net banking portal: 

  1. Login to the net banking portal of SBI using your credentials. 
  2. Go to the ‘Payment/ Transfer’ and click on ‘Add and Manage Beneficiary’. 
  3. Next, enter the profile password and click on the ‘Submit’ button to add a beneficiary. 
  4. Choose the beneficiary type that you want to add. 
  5. Next, enter the required details like name of the beneficiary, account number, transfer limit, address, and Indian Financial System Code (IFSC) and click on ‘Submit’. 
  6. Once you have clicked on the submit button, it will take some time to activate the beneficiary account. Hence, you can transfer money to the beneficiary once it is activated. 

Transfer of Funds to Other SBI Account Holder:

The following are the steps to transfer funds to other SBI account holder: 

  1. Login to the SBI net banking portal
  2. Go to the ‘Payments/ Transfer’ section and click on ‘Accounts of Others’ in order to transfer funds to a beneficiary who has a SBI account. 
  3. Select the transaction type and click on ‘Proceed’. 
  4. Select the account to which you want to transfer funds. 
  5. Enter the amount you want to transfer. 
  6. Select the purpose of funds transfer and the beneficiary account. 
  7. Click on the ‘Pay Now’ button to transfer money or the ‘Standing Instruction’ option to provide instruction as to when the money should be transferred. 
  1. Agree to the terms and conditions by clicking on the checkbox. 
  2. Click on the ‘Submit’. 
  3. You will be redirected to a new page which will show all the details that you have entered. 
  4. Next, click on ‘Confirm’. 
  5. A high security password will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the password and click on ‘Confirm’
  6. You will receive a confirmation message which will be displayed on the screen.  

Transfer Money to Other Bank’s Beneficiary:

The following are the steps to transfer money to another bank’s beneficiary: 

  1. Login to your SBI net banking portal
  2. Go to the ‘Payment/ Transfer’ tab and click on ‘Other Bank Transfer’ menu. 
  3. Select the transaction type that you wish to make and click on ‘Proceed’ button. 
  4. Select the account to which you want to transfer fund. 
  5. Enter the amount that you want to transfer. 
  6. Choose the purpose of fund transfer and the beneficiary account. 
  7. Next, select the ‘Pay Now’ option to transfer money. 
  8. Alternatively, you can click on the ‘Standing Instruction’ button to provide instructions by mentioning when the fund transfer should take place. 
  9. Agree to the terms and conditions by clicking on the checkbox. 
  10. Click on the ‘Submit’. 
  11. You will get a high-security password at your registered mobile number. 
  12. Enter the password and click on ‘Confirm’ button to complete the procedure. 

How to Transfer Funds from Savings Account to Home Loan Account? 

It is recommended that you use ECS and NACH capabilities rather than manually moving money from your savings account to your home loan account on a regular basis. When you make a manual money transfer, the bank may interpret it as a loan prepayment. As a result, only if there is an error in the automated EMI payment system should you notify the bank before executing such a manual transfer. 

Given below are the step to transfer money from your savings account to the home loan account: 

  1. Login to the SBI net banking portal using your user ID and password. 
  2. Go to the ‘Payments/ Transfers’ and choose ‘Funds Transfer (Own SBI A/C)’. 
  3. You will be able to see the list of SBI account. 
  4. Choose the home loan account number. 
  5. Next, enter the amount that you want to transfer. 
  6. Select the purpose of transferring money from the drop-down menu. 
  7. Choose the payment option as to when you want to transfer the money. 
  8. Click on the ‘Submit’ button. 
  9. Verify all the details that you have entered and click on ‘Confirm’ to complete the procedure.
