How to Fill PF Settlement Form Online

A member has to fill up form 19 for settlement of his PF account. PF settlement form (Form 19) can be easily obtained by downloading it from the official EPF website at www.epfindia.org.in.  A member has to fill in the required details before submitting the form to his or her previous employer.

In several cases, salaried persons may not remember their EPF account numbers, in which case, they can make an official request to the human resources department of their companies, which in turn, may establish contact with the ex-employers of their employees.

The members can contact their ex-employers on their own to obtain the required information. In some cases, ex-employers may shut shop while there have been instances wherein salaried employees may have quit their establishment under unfavourable circumstances, which may make it difficult for them to contact their previous employers.

Nevertheless, members can fill up their PF Settlement Form (form 19) providing all details, following which, they have to get it attested by their bank manager (where they have their EPF account). Members have to provide personal details in addition to the proof of identity. Form 19 should then be submitted to the regional PF manager for approval and seal of authentication (click the ‘establishment search’ tab on the official EPF website for details).

Required Details for Form 19 (PF Final Settlement)

PF Settlement Form allows members to withdraw their PF balance after quitting their job, superannuation, termination or at the time of retirement.

Under no circumstances, can any establishment or organisation can stop members from withdrawing from their EPF balance.

Form 19 requires members to fill in the following details:

  1. Name of the member (Should be filled clearly in capital letters. It is important to note that the name in form 9/5, bank account and claim form should not differ).
  2. Father’s name (Should be filled in legible, capital letters. It is important to note that the name in form 9/5, bank account and claim form should not differ).
  3. Date of birth
  4. Name and complete address of the establishment/factory (including pin code)
  5. PF account number (format: state/office/establishment code/account number). The allotted account number stays the same until the member quits the factory/establishment and transfers the fund to the new employer.
  1. Universal Account Number (UAN)
  2. Joining Date (establishment)
  3. Date of leaving service
  4. Reason for leaving service
    1. Voluntary retirement scheme
    2. Disability
    3. Migrating abroad (permanently)
    4. Retrenched
    5. Resigning (claim should be submitted after two months of leaving service. Women who leave service to get married are however, given immediate settlement)
    6. Service terminated due to ill-health of the member, discontinuation of the business of the employer or any other factor beyond the member’s control
  1. Permanent Account Number (PAN)
  2. Copies of form No. 15G/15H
  3. Complete postal address of the member (house number, street name, block, city, state, pincode)
  4. Payment mode (For accumulations below Rs.2000, payment is made through money order while for amounts above Rs.2000, payment is made through cheque).
  5. Savings bank account number, bank name and address in addition to IFSC code. It important to note that the account payee cheque is sent to the scheduled bank which maintains the savings bank account of the member. Full address of the bank branch should, therefore, be furnished.
  6. Signature of the member
  7. Advance stamped receipt (in case of payments via cheque, this receipt must be signed by the member. A one rupee revenue stamp should be affixed by the member while the amount will be filled by OIC at the office of EPFO).
  8. Contribution for the current financial year (information about PF contribution along with wages must be provided. Alternatively, form 3A attested by the employer can be submitted).
  9. Signature of the employer plus seal of the employer. In case the factory/ establishment has been shut down, attestation can be done from any of the officials listed below:
    1. Sub-postmaster
    2. Gazetted officer
    3. Bank manager
    4. Magistrate
    5. Chairman of municipal body
    6. Head of village panchayat
    7. Head of an educational institution (recognised)
    8. Central Board of Trustees
    9. Member of parliament/legislative assembly
    10. Liquidator (appointed by court)

How to fill Form 19 online

Given below are the steps you will have to follow to fill Form 19:

  1. Visit the EPF website and log in to the portal by providing your UAN number.
  2. Under the 'Online Services', click on 'Claim (Form 31Form 19,Form 10C & Form 10D)'.
  3. Enter the last 4 digits of your bank account number and click on 'Verify'.
  4. Click on 'YES' to sign the 'Certificate of Understanding'.
  5. Under the 'I want to apply for' section from the drop-down menu select the option 'Only PF Withdrawal (Form-19)'.
  6. In the new page that will appear on your screen, enter your address and tick the disclaimer and click on 'Get Aadhaar OTP'.
  7. A 'One Time Password (OTP' will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and submit your application.
  8. Once your application is submitted successfully, you will receive a reference number. Save it for future requirement.
  9. It will take around 15-20 for the withdrawal amount to be deposited to your bank account.

Checklist you must fulfill before filling Form 19 online

  1. You will have to first activate your UAN at the EPF portal.
  2. Your mobile number must be linked with UAN.
  3. It is important that you link your PAN number and bank account with UAN number.
  4. The Form 19 will not be displayed on your portal if you are not eligible to receive the final settlement.
  5. However, if you are eligible to receive the final settlement, you will not only be able to view the Form 19 but also Form 10 C too.

Composite Form (For offline withdrawal)

Composite Form is the combination of Form 19, Form 31, and Form 10C where Form 19 is used for PF final settlement, Form 31 is used to be filled for partial EPF withdrawal, and Form 10 C is used for withdrawal of pension.

However, Composit Form is used only if you wish to do your withdrawals offline.

EPFO increases auto settlement limit to Rs.5 lakh

    Yes, you can claim your EPF settlement through cheque by providing the following details - the amount you wish to withdraw, Re.1 revenue stamp, and the signature of the applicant.

  • Do I need to provide revenue stamps for an online application?

    No, you will not be required to submit revenue stamps if you are applying for withdrawal online. However, if you are using offline channels, then you will have to submit a revenue stamp worth Re.1 if you want the payment via cheque.

  • Will my employment with all employees be considered at the time of withdrawal of PF?

    Yes, when you are looking to withdraw PF, all the employees you have worked with both previously and currently will be taken into consideration.

  • If I have claim settlement online, then do I need to submit Form 15 G and 15 H?

    If you are looking to withdraw an amount higher than Rs.50,000 and been in service for less than 5 years, then you will have to submit two copies of Form 15G so that you claim settlement online and save tax on EPF.
