When the permanent address of a customer who is in possession of an Indane Gas LPG changes, the authorities responsible have to be notified of the change so that the Indane Gas transfer can be completed to the new address. To ensure this, the holder of the connection has to submit the address proof of the new residence.
How to Transfer Indane Gas Within the Same City
If the customer is shifting his or her residence to another location in the same city, the connection transfer can take place as follows:
- The customer has to visit his or her current Indane distributor with the SV (Subscription Voucher) that was given by the distributor to the customer on possession of a new gas connection.
- The distributor is to be informed of the change in the address and the SV is to be submitted.
- If the current Indane distributor of the customer does not serve at the new address, a Transfer Termination Voucher (TTV) containing the customer's new address will be provided.
- This document serves as an official record that the customer has shifted his or her address of residence and fulfilled the legal obligation of informing the LPG supplier.
- Next, the customer has to take the TTV, DGCC booklet and new proof of address to the new Indane LPG supplier near the new area of residence.
- The new distributor will process the TTV into a new Transfer Subscription Voucher (TSV) and will also generate a new consumer number, which can be used for all future LPG related activities.
- The updated details of your new address and consumer number will be updated in the DGCC booklet.
It's important to note that if the customer is shifting residence within the same city but there is no need to shift the distributor, all the customer needs to do is to update the KYC at the current distributor to reflect the change in address. The same cylinder and pressure regulator can be used that was given at the time of registering the first connection.
How to Transfer Indane Gas Connection to Another City
If the customer is shifting his or her residence to a new location in a different city than the one in which he or she is currently registered, the steps to be followed are:
- The customer has to surrender all the Indane gas equipments at the distributor in addition to stating his or her reason for shifting out of the city.
- The distributor will collect and log these items, and prepare a Termination Voucher (TV) and refund the deposit the customer had paid initially at the time of taking the connection.
- The service agent at the distributorship will update the customer about the location of the nearest Indane distributor in your new city.
- The customer has to take the Termination Voucher to the new Indane distributor and submit it in exchange for a new Subscription Voucher and new consumer number which will be provided. It has to be used for continuing the LPG refilling services.
- The new distributor will assign a new cylinder and pressure regulator to the customer under the new consumer number and services will resume as earlier.
Indane Gas Transfer to Family Member
Indane Gas allows the transfer of the connection to any family member. To transfer the connection from the father who is the transferor to the son who is the transferee, the following documents have to be submitted to the nearest Indane gas distributor:
- KYC of the transferee i.e. the son.
- The transferee has to also submit the identity and address proof documents.
- The transferee has to provide the SV voucher in his name. If he does not have the SV, an affidavit needs to be submitted.
- A declaration from the transferee stating the transfer of the connection.
- After all the documents that have been submitted by the transferee have been verified, the Indane Gas distributor will make the SV voucher in the name of the transferee.
Indane Gas Transfer from Deceased Member to Transferee
If the owner of the Indane gas connection is deceased suddenly, the connection can be transferred to the legal heir, in this case the son. The following documents need to be submitted:
- A declaration from the transferee stating the transfer of the connection.
- A copy of the death certificate of the deceased owner.
- KYC of the transferee i.e. the son.
- The transferee has to also submit the identity and address proof documents.
Indane Gas Transfer Form
To transfer an Indane Gas LPG connection, the customer can do so by submitting letter Annexure A. The details to be filled in the form include the name of the current owner of the connection and the Subscription Voucher (SV) number. Given any situation regarding transfer of a Indane Gas connection, the transferee has to fill the following two forms mentioned below:

Declaration of Transferor (Strike off if Not Applicable) I Mr./Mrs./Ms ___________________, am no more in need of the abovementioned LPG connection and request you to transfer the same to the transferee. I hereby authorize you to handover the security deposit amount held in my name to Mr./Mrs./Ms. ____________. I hereby confirm that I will not have any claim at a later date on you in respect of the said LPG connection or the equipment/security deposit towards the same. I hereby request you to transfer the abovementioned LPG connection in my name or issue the Subscription Voucher (SV) in my name for the equipment presently held by me without SV (strike out whichever is not applicable). I hereby undertake the indemnify M/s Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation against any claims whatsoever arising in respect of the LPG connection transferred/regularised in my name and the equipment/security deposit thereunder. I also affirm as under:
- That I am not in possession of LPG connection of IOC/BPC/HPC for my domestic use, either in my name or in the name of any of my family members residing with me in the same dwelling unit.
- That my household is independent of other households or kitchens if any within the same address.
- That if any information/declaration given by me in this undertaking or any document submitted by me for availing this LPG connection whether in support of KYC/identity/date of birth/residence proof/Death certificate, etc. shall be found untrue or incorrect or false, IOC/BPC/HPC would be within its rights to withdraw the supply of Gas/terminate the LPG connection/seize the equipment/forfeit the security deposit and that I would have no claim, whatsoever, against the IOC/BPC/HPC for such withdrawal/termination/seizure/forefeiture.
I hereby verify and confirm that what has been stated above is true to the best of my knowledge and nothing material has been concealed therefrom. How to Change Indane Gas Distributor
- If a customer is unhappy with the services provided by his or her distributor or is transferring to a new location, Indane Gas allows the distributor to be changed.
- If there are multiple Indane Gas LPG distributors in the customer's area of residence, he or she can choose the preferred distributor.
- However, the service of selecting your preferred Indane Gas distributor is only available in select cities in the country.
The customer can visit the link Indane Gas Portal and enter the user ID and password to avail this facility.
