The Yeshasvini Co-Operative Farmers Health Care Scheme offers health insurance coverage to ryots (tenant farmers or peasants) who are members of co-operative societies in Karnataka . The scheme covers around 803 surgical procedures.

Farmers who belong to the economically weaker section are deprived of various healthcare facilities provided by the government. Yeshasvini Healthcare Insurance Scheme was launched by Karnataka State Government on 1 June 2003 with an aim to help them in providing comprehensive affordable medical facilities in the state. 

The scheme is implemented by the Department of Cooperatives and it uses the funds of cooperative societies through Yeshasvini Trust. It provides medical insurance coverage along with 823 different surgical procedures coverage. The individuals who are members of the cooperative society can only avail the benefits of this health insurance scheme. 

What is Covered? 

Yeshasvini Healthcare Insurance Scheme covers expenses of the following surgical procedures: 

  1. Cardiothoracic Surgery 
  1. Cardiac Arrest 
  2. General Surgery 
  3. Paediatric, Orthopaedic Surgery 
  4. Obstetrics 
  5. Gynaecology Surgery 
  1. Vascular, Neurological, Ophthalmology, Genito-urinary Surgery 
  2. Normal Delivery 
  3. Snake bite 
  4. Dog bite 
  5. Accidents while doing agricultural activities 

What is Not Covered? 

The following medical procedures are excluded from Yeshasvini Healthcare Insurance Scheme: 

  1. Skin Treatments, Cosmetic Surgery, Grafting 
  2. Kidney transplant 
  3. Heart Transplant

  2. Burns 
  3. Regular Check Ups 
  4. Diagnostics Tests 
  5. Nasal Septum

Eligibility Criteria for Yeshasvini Healthcare Insurance Scheme 

Given below are the eligibility criteria to apply for Yeshasvini Healthcare Insurance Scheme: 

  1. Individual below 75 years of age are eligible to apply for this scheme. 
  1. An applicant should be a member of Karnataka’s cooperative society at least three months prior to the application procedure. 
  2. Spouse, parents and children can also avail the benefits of this scheme. 

Documents Required 

You need to submit the photocopies of the following documents to apply for Yeshasvini Healthcare Insurance Scheme: 

  1. Proof of age 
  1. Proof of address 
  2. An official document showing that you are a member of Rural or Urban Cooperative Societies. 

How to Register Online? 

To register for Yeshasvini Healthcare Insurance Scheme, an individual should be a member of Rural or Urban Cooperative Societies at least three months prior to the registration procedure. New registration and membership renewal is done every year from May to June. 

How to Get Yeshasvini Health Card? 

Given below are the steps to get a Yeshasvini Health Card: 

  1. Visit  Official website
  2. Click on ‘Register for the Cooperative Society’ option. 
  3. Next, click on the ‘Apply Online for Yeshasvini Health Card’ link. 
  4. Enter all the details on the online registration form and click on ‘Submit’. 
  1. Once the submission is done, you will get your User ID and Password. 
  2. Go to the ‘Home Page’. 
  3. Login to the portal using your credentials. 
  4. You will be redirected to Yeshasvini Health Card form. 
  5. Fill up the form and finally, click on the ‘Submit’ button. 

How to Claim Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme? 

To avail the benefits of Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme, an individual should approach its network hospital and follow the given procedures: 

  1. Visit a network hospital of this scheme.   
  2. Get in touch with a medical coordinating officer and provide all the relevant documents.   
  3. Once the documents are verified, you need to pay the enrolment fee for medical tests.   
  1. On the basis of diagnosis, if medical surgery is needed, a pre-authorization request will be sent to the Management Service Provider (MSP).   
  2. The MSP will verify the request and provides approval for cashless treatment.   
  3. Post-discharge, the hospital will send the discharge summary and bills to MSP for claim settlement.

  3. Fishermen cooperative societies, peasants, self-help groups, and Stree Shakti Groups can also enrol for the Yeshasvini Card facility.   
  1. Yeshasvini Healthcare Insurance facility can be availed for an infant to an individual below 75 years of age.   
  2. The scheme provides financial coverage for 823 surgical procedures at its network hospitals.
