How to Download Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate

Once you get your COVID-19 vaccine shot, you will be able to download your vaccination certificate. This is proof that you have been vaccinated with one or both vaccine doses.

Currently, if you want to download the vaccination certificate, you have to do so via the CoWIN portal. The Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya's office has recently launched a facility where, if you have got your COVID-19 vaccination, you can easily get the vaccination certificate via WhatsApp within a few seconds.

What Information Does the Vaccine Certificate Include?

Your COVID-19 vaccination certificate is divided into two parts:

Basic Details:

  1. Full Name
  2. Age
  3. Gender
  4. Beneficiary Reference ID

Vaccination Details:

  1. Vaccine name (e.g., Covishield, Covaxin)
  2. Date of Dose 1 & Dose 2
  3. Booster Dose (if applicable)
  4. Vaccination centre name
  5. Vaccinator’s name
  6. QR Code for verification

How to Download COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate

You can download your vaccination certificate through any of the following platforms:

  1. CoWIN Portal
  2. Aarogya Setu App
  3. DigiLocker App
  4. Umang App

Steps to Download Certificate from CoWIN Website

  • Visit the official CoWIN portal
  • Click on Sign In / Register
  • Enter your registered mobile number
  • Enter the OTP sent to your phone
  • Once logged in, click on the “Certificate” button next to your name
  • Click on Download
  • Your COVID-19 certificate will be saved to your device.

Download from Aarogya Setu App

  • Open or download Aarogya Setu from the Play Store or App Store
  • Log in using your registered mobile number
  • Click on the CoWIN tab on the homepage
  • Tap Vaccination Certificate
  • Enter your 13-digit Beneficiary ID
  • Click Download to save the certificate to your device

Download from DigiLocker App

  • Download the DigiLocker App or visit digilocker.gov.in
  • Sign in or register with your Aadhaar number or phone number
  • Go to Health > Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
  • Select COVID Vaccine Certificate
  • Enter your Beneficiary Reference ID
  • Download your certificate.

Download from UMANG App

  • Download the UMANG App
  • Log in with your mobile number
  • Click on CoWIN
  • Tap Download Vaccination Certificate
  • Enter your mobile number or Beneficiary ID
  • Download and save the certificate

  • How many people can be registered on one mobile number?

      You can register up to 6 beneficiaries using a single mobile number on the CoWIN portal.  

  • Is there a fee to download the certificate?

      No, downloading the vaccination certificate is completely free on all official platforms.  

  • Why do I need a vaccination certificate?

    It is official proof that you're vaccinated and may be required for:

    1. Domestic or international travel
    2. Access to workplaces, colleges, or events
    3. Availing booster doses or additional vaccines
  • Can I take my second or booster dose in a different state?

    Yes, as long as the vaccine type is the same as your first dose and available at the new location.

  • Can I choose which vaccine I receive?

    As of now, you cannot choose your vaccine type. It depends on availability at the vaccination centre.
