  3. You can withdraw your PF online without the attestation of your employer. The entire process can be completed online without any hassle.

Recent EPFO Updates and Improvements

  1. As of 14 August 2025, EPFO has simplified Aadhaar seeding as part of KYC, enabling easier corrections, employer-initiated updates, and support even when employers are unavailable or establishments have closed. You can even link Aadhaar directly via the UMANG app, reducing dependency on employers.
  1. EPFO continues to mandate UAN allotment and activation via the UMANG app using Face Authentication Technology (FAT) from 1 August 2025 onwards. This enhances security but has posed technical challenges for compliance.

Why is linking Aadhaar with your EPF important?

Mandatory for online claims and employer processes: Without Aadhaar seeding, you cannot file EPF claims online and your employer cannot submit ECR (Employee‑cum‑Return) or deposit PF contributions.

Faster withdrawals & seamless transfers: Once Aadhaar is linked, you can withdraw PF and transfer accounts online without employer attestation, making things quicker and simpler.

Avoids duplication and data errors: Linking ensures consistency between your Aadhaar and PF records, reducing errors or duplicate accounts.

UIDAI-backed verification: Aadhaar data is verified directly with UIDAI, increasing reliability of your EPF profile.
