Noida residents no longer need to stand in long queues to apply for a passport, thanks to a mobile passport van introduced by the Ghaziabad Regional Passport Office. This initiative aims to make passport services more accessible, particularly for those who struggle to visit the passport office due to time constraints. Previously, passport applications were processed only at the Ghaziabad office, which also served residents from 11 neighbouring districts. Applicants often had to make multiple visits to rectify errors in their applications. The new mobile van addresses this issue by bringing passport services directly to different locations.
Currently, the van is stationed at the Indian Coast Guard campus in Sector 24, processing applications for Coast Guard personnel and their families from 18 February 2025 to 20 February 2025. So far, 60 applications have been received, with more expected in the coming days. Regional Passport Officer Anuj Swaroop stated that the van will soon be deployed to government offices, schools, and colleges based on demand. Additionally, Noida residents can also apply for passports at the dedicated service centre in the Sector 19 post office. This initiative offers a more convenient and efficient way for citizens to access passport services.
